Day 10 | Eco Action, Sustainability, and the Role of Youth in the Age of AI

Day 10 of the School for Young Leaders 2025 was fully dedicated to action, sustainability, and responsibility, blending environmental engagement, cultural exploration, and forward-looking discussion on artificial intelligence.

Empowering Leaders, Sustaining the Future

As part of the 16th School for Young Leaders, this year’s ecological action delivered a clear and powerful message: leadership is defined not only by ideas and dialogue, but by responsibility, action, and lasting contribution.

Under the joint motto “Empowering Leaders, Sustaining the Future,” participants, together with Eco Fluid, took part in a meaningful initiative to restore the olive grove at Gorica Hill, within the garden of Hotel Inex Olgica.

This symbolic act reaffirmed the School’s commitment to shaping leaders who are conscious of their role not only in society, but also in the stewardship of the natural environment. Each olive tree planted stood as a promise to the future—a gesture of care toward the planet, future generations, and the shared values of resilience, peace, and long-term vision.

By turning sustainability into practice, the eco action embodied a core principle of the School for Young Leaders: leadership is most powerful when it is lived, not merely discussed.

Discovering Ohrid

Following the eco action, participants took part in a guided city tour of Ohrid, exploring its historic sites, cultural landmarks, and natural beauty. The walking tour offered a moment of reflection and connection, highlighting the importance of preserving both cultural heritage and the environment.

AI, Sustainability, and the Future of Leadership

The afternoon continued with a lecture and workshop led by Djordjija Petkoski, Lecturer at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and Visiting Professor at the University of Belgrade.

“The Role of Young People in the Age of AIability – AI and Sustainability”

The sessions explored how artificial intelligence intersects with sustainability, responsibility, and leadership, emphasizing the critical role young people play in shaping ethical, inclusive, and future-oriented solutions in an AI-driven world.

Night Owl Session 🎬

The day concluded with a Night Owl Session, featuring a movie screening followed by an open discussion—providing space for reflection, dialogue, and shared insights after a day devoted to meaningful action.

Day 10 was a powerful reminder that leadership is not only about ideas and dialogue, but about action, responsibility, and leaving a positive mark on the world we share.
