Day 11 | Values, Responsibility, and Policy in Action

Day 11 of the School for Young Leaders 2025 brought together two essential dimensions of leadership: values-driven leadership at the highest level and the practical application of accountable policy-making through teamwork and analysis.

Women, Family, and Leadership

The day opened with a distinguished lecture by Katalin Novák, President of Hungary (2022–2024).

📚 Lecture: “Women Leaders, Family and Leadership”

In her heartfelt address, President Novák reflected on the balance between personal values and public responsibility, highlighting the role of empathy, family, integrity, and moral strength in shaping authentic leadership. Her message resonated deeply with participants, offering a powerful reminder that in today’s complex world, compassion and strength go hand in hand, and that leadership is rooted in character as much as in authority.

From Values to Policy: Group Project Work

The focus then shifted from reflection to action through the Project Assignment Sessions, led by Filip Nelkovski, Stanford CDDRL Fellow.

📚 Project Assignment – Sessions 3 & 4:
“Accountable Policy-Making Process: How Do Decisions Reflect Sustainable Development?”

Participants worked in teams to finalize their group projects, refining analyses, strengthening arguments, and preparing policy-oriented solutions rooted in accountability, transparency, and sustainability. This phase marked the final stage of preparation before presenting their work to the Evaluation Committee.

In the evening, during Project Assignment – Session 4, participants took the stage to present the results of their group projects through PowerPoint presentations, showcasing weeks of research, collaboration, and shared vision for building more transparent and sustainable societies.

The presentations were evaluated by an Evaluation Committee, highlighting the participants’ ability to translate leadership values into concrete, policy-driven action.

👏 Congratulations to the winning team, Kayapo 🥇, for their outstanding work, clarity of vision, and compelling presentation.
